View Your Assigned Training

To see the training that’s assigned to you, click on Assigned Training and the assigned course will display:

720

Your assigned training section will look similar to this

Here you can see the Course Title, the course Description, the Due Date, and under Actions, the buttons to Take Course, and to view History. You will also notice that the Course Title is hyperlinked.

If you have a long list or many pages of assigned courses, then you can use the Search field or the Previous and Next navigation buttons to locate your course. The search field is much quicker.

Using the Search Facility

The Search field acts as a filter for whatever part of the CASSA system you’re in, such as assigned courses, registers, forms, etc. To use it:

  1. Enter a keyword into the field and, as you type, the results will filter accordingly. For example, I started to enter ‘safety’ and as soon as I started typing ‘sa’, I could already see the result I needed:

Search results will display when there's a match with what you enter into the field

  1. Click on the visible actions (hyperlinks or buttons, depending on the functionality available), such as Course Title, Take Course, or History button to select an action for the course you require. That action will then initiate.

📘

Search Functionality

Note: this search functionality is used throughout the CASSA system and we encourage you to use it to your advantage. Different actions will become available for different tasks, such as Assign Register, View, etc., but the functionality remains the same.

Taking an Exam

When you begin an exam, you’ll be presented with question 1:

528

Question 1 (in all its glory)

The exam I’ve selected is the General Safety Induction and, as can be seen in the image above, you have a number of areas on the display.

Let’s break it down into the respective sections:

528

All the different sections of the question page (it's much easier without all the coloured bits, honest!)

As you can see, we have:

  • Quiz Information – this tells you the exam name; what question number this is, and how many questions there are in total. As you can see, there’s also a hint option that you can select if you need a little assistance with the answer. There’s also the Exam Duration so you can see and manage your time effectively.
  • The question – as with any quiz question, make sure you read and understand the question before you attempt an answer.
  • The answers – not only will different questions have different answers (clever that!), but they will have a different number and type of answers (it won’t always be 3 and it won’t always be a text-based answer). Again, check the answers in full before choosing the one you think is correct.
  • The buttons – you can navigate between questions using the Previous and Next buttons (the Next button advances to the next question). If you make a mistake, you can reset it by using the Clear Answer button. When, you’ve completed the quiz and are ready to submit it, click on the Finish button.
  • The timer – there are 2 parts to this: The Time Status counts down the time you have left to complete the quiz. The Total Time is the time you have to complete this quiz. This number is static, it does not countdown. When the Time Status reaches 00:00:00
  • Course orientation section – the number of questions is indicated by the 1, 2, 3, 4, 5… squares, and the number of questions answered, not answered, and not visited will change as you progress. These are excellent for helping you keep track of where you are, what you’ve done, and what you’ve missed:

Different Answer Types

The majority of answers will be text-based but you will also encounter video-based and downloadable files, such as the following:

  • Video-based questions – this is where you need to watch the video first and then answer the questions presented:

Video-based questions

  • Document-based questions – here you will need to download the file and then read it before confirming or answering the question(s):

Completing the Exam

When the exam is finished, you’re taken automatically to the results page. The exam will end in one of two ways:

  • You complete the exam by clicking on the Finish button
  • Your run out of time.

Click on the Finish Button

When you have answered all the questions to your satisfaction, click on the Finish button to view your results.

🚧

When you finish, there's no going back

Once you click on the Finish button, there is no going back to the quiz, so only do this once you are ready.

You can now view your results, as shown in the image above.

To exit the results page, click on the Go To Dashboard button and you’ll be taken to the dashboard.

Running Out of Time

If you run out of time, the following message will display:

405

You don't want to see this!

Click on the Ok button to continue and you will be taken to the results page.

📘

Points to Note About Quizzes

Don’t refresh or close your browser when taking a quiz – these are online quizzes and if you refresh or close your browser, the exam will abort and you will need to retake it. Aborted exams do not show up in your results.

📘

Try and answer all questions

Keep an eye of the time left versus the duration. Don’t get caught out. As you can see in Running out of time, when the clock runs down, the exam will finish.

Viewing Course History
